About Giving Her E.V.E
Empowering women and girls through Equity, Voice, and Empowerment
Our Story

Founded in December 2023, Giving Her E.V.E (Equity, Voice and Empowerment) is a women-led non-profit organization working in rural Kenya to address the interconnected challenges that continue to limit opportunities for women and girls. We believe that educational inequality, economic vulnerability, poor access to menstrual health resources, and gender-based barriers are deeply connected. As a result, meaningful and lasting change can only be achieved through holistic solutions that empower both women and girls simultaneously.
Our work is built on two reinforcing pillars: girls' education and women's economic empowerment.
Through our education program, we support marginalized and at-risk girls from primary school through secondary school and, where possible, into higher education. We provide educational assistance, mentorship, menstrual hygiene management support, and guidance during critical academic transitions that often determine whether a girl remains in school. In situations where home environments are unsafe or unstable, we work to provide safe shelter and protection to ensure that a girl's education is not disrupted by circumstances beyond her control. Our goal is not only to keep girls in school but to equip them with the confidence, knowledge, and opportunities needed to build successful futures.
Alongside this work, we empower widowed and economically vulnerable women by helping them establish sustainable income-generating activities and small businesses. Through entrepreneurship support, skills development, and community-based economic initiatives, women are able to strengthen their financial independence, provide for their families, and improve household stability. We have seen firsthand that when a mother has a reliable source of income, her children, particularly her daughters, are more likely to remain in school and less likely to face risks such as early marriage, child labor, or educational discontinuation.
Recognizing the importance of practical skills in creating lasting economic opportunities, we have partnered with the Sylvia Carter Women of Strength Empowerment Centre to provide vocational training programs in tailoring, fashion and design, and catering. These programs equip women and girls with marketable skills that can lead to employment, self-employment, and long-term economic resilience. By combining education, entrepreneurship, and vocational training, we create multiple pathways toward self-sufficiency and empowerment.
At Giving Her E.V.E, we believe that every woman deserves equity, every girl deserves a voice, and every individual deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. Our approach is rooted in dignity, community partnership, and sustainable impact. By investing in women and girls today, we are helping build stronger families, more resilient communities, and a future where every girl has the opportunity to learn, lead, and thrive.
